The 2012 Indoor Rowing Marathon
The marathon is an incredible challenge — whether it’s on your feet, or on your butt! This October, Flywheel Fitness will be hosting our 4th annual indoor rowing marathon. On October 13th, competitors will take to the “oars” for a 26.2 mile marathon, or 13.1 mile half marathon.
First-timers can experience the satisfaction of competing in and completing a long-distance event — one of life’s greatest achievements — while veteran marathoners can compete in a new sport or against their own personal best. If you can’t run a marathon, we bet you can row one — and enjoy the same bragging rights!
For the $60 entry fee, you get an amazing workout, a Flywheel marathon t-shirt, a cool finishers medal, a place on our perpetual finishers trophy, and a “seat” in the October marathon. You MUST sign up by September 15th to guarantee your t-shirt size! CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.
HEATS:
You can choose from a 7am or 11am start time. Full marathoners should plan for the 7am start time, and be prepared to block off 5 hours of your morning. Half marathoners can choose either start time, and should plan for 3 hours.
TRAINING:
Come on in and start rowing! We suggest trying some back-to-back rowing classes to get used to sitting on the machine for longer, OR, come to the Saturday 8am advanced rowing class, where all our training will be geared towards marathon prep over the next month.
