2011 Tour de France Challenge Results

The 2011 Tour de France Challenge has come to a close. Flywheel riders followed the different stages of the Tour, earning points for each class attended, for a total of 19 days. It was barely a contest, with Lauren having attended possibly every single Spinning class since early July – but she held onto her lead, and left the rest of us to duke it out for 2nd... Read More

She’s young and over 6 feet tall. Heck, she’s an Olympian. On the Concept2 rowers we had myself, a few other women my age, a high school girl, some masters men and women ranging... Read More

The Spinner Elite Bike

By Coach Patrick Kelly Something a little curious happened during a recent Spin class. One of the athletes said she felt like the flywheel was slipping as she was pedaling. She said it just felt a little loose on a few occasions. After the class I hopped on that particular Spin bike and tried to replicate what the rider said she felt. I didn’t feel anything wrong. I tried both... Read More

Here we will explore methods of setting your training zones. Training zones are based on working at a defined percentage of your maximum heart rate. Why training zones? Physiologically, the body... Read More

There were 20 “stages” to complete, mirroring the stages of the Tour de France. The top three finishers will receive Flywheel... Read More
